Day-by-day itinerary
- Day 1
Arrival Leh & acclimatisation
Arrive Kushok Bakula Airport (3,500m). Transfer to hotel. COMPLETE REST for acclimatisation — no exertion. Light walk at Leh Market in the evening only.
- Day 2
Leh local & monasteries
Shanti Stupa, Leh Palace, Hall of Fame museum. Afternoon Thiksey, Hemis and Shey monasteries. Evening leisure.
- Day 3
Leh to Nubra Valley
Drive over Khardung La pass (5,359m) into Nubra Valley. Afternoon double-humped camel safari over the Hunder sand dunes. Overnight at Nubra camp/hotel.
- Day 4
Nubra to Pangong
Long scenic drive via Shyok route (or Wari La) to Pangong Tso (4,350m). Lakeside camp check-in. Sunset over the lake.
- Day 5
Pangong to Leh
Sunrise at Pangong. Drive back via Chang La pass to Leh. Evening leisure or Tibetan refugee market shopping.
- Day 6
Sham Valley day-trip
Day-trip to Sham Valley — Magnetic Hill, Gurudwara Pathar Sahib, Sangam (Indus-Zanskar confluence), Alchi Monastery, Likir.
- Day 7
Departure Leh
Breakfast and transfer to airport for early morning departure.
